The third component in the program aids neighbourhoods associations active in developing the local economy, social support for young people and promoting social inclusion. Thirty-four projects were approved in 2006 thanks to the involvement of local managers. The main focus is education, vocational training and cultural development. Funding provided to each association is used mainly to purchase equipment and materials.
