“Coup de Pouce”, or “Helping Hand”, is a program through which the Foundation provides support by initiatives in which
the Group's employees are personally involved.
In 2006 the Foundation also launched the “Projet Banlieue” program to aid residents in troubled neighborhoods around big French cities. The program supports job creation, the creation of social links in difficult neighborhoods and tutoring for schoolchildren building on partnerships forged
for many years with associations like ADIE or AFEV
Helping BNP Paribas employees help others
BNP Paribas recognizes that people are not only committed to their company, but are also often engaged in solidarity at a personal level. To assist them, in 2003, the BNP Paribas Foundation launched the "Helping Hand” program, which encourages solidarity initiatives in which staff are personally involved outside their work.
Each year, employees can apply to the Foundation for grants. It has provided support for 100 associations since the program was launched in 2003. Projects are reviewed by the Foundation team and decisions are then made by the Corporate Patronage Committee.
These initiatives span a wide variety of issues, from aid for the disabled or humanitarian actions (creation of schools, clinics, etc), to helping children (prevention of drowning, tutoring for schoolchildren, medical care) and the fight against different forms of social exclusion.
