Paris, 12 Oct. 2009
A supporter of the “Turkey in France Season”, BNP Paribas strives to promote Turkish culture in France, and to encourage co-operation programmes between cultural and artistic institutions. There are two dates to remember in October:
First of all, BNP Paribas is supporting the exhibition “From Byzantium to Istanbul“, organised by the Réunion des Musées Nationaux (United Museums of France) which began on 10 October 2009 in the Galeries Nationales at the Grand Palais, Paris. The exhibition traces the history of this city, the “sublime gate” between Europe and Asia, where each culture has flourished within the heritage of its predecessors.
Meanwhile, in Marseille, four Turkish companies will be hosted by the choreographer Michel Kelemenis – who is supported by the BNP Paribas Foundation – on the occasion of the fourth edition of his Festival Question de Danse, which runs from 27 October to 7 November 2009. Through rough sketches, exploratory projects, and experiments, the artists will demonstrate how they achieve their objectives, and place the spectator at the heart of the creative process of dance. "Question de danse, questions d'artistes" ("A Question of Dance, Artists' Questions") is a space for promoting artistic projects as well as for meeting and debate.
