Medical Research Programme

Fondation Garches

Programs conceived and developed by the Fondation Garches
all focus on helping the disabled regain their autonomy.

Founded in 1988 by doctors from the Raymond Poincaré hospital, the Fondation Garches aims to assist handicapped persons return home after hospitalization and, whenever possible, help them return to a professional activity.

The programs conceived and developed by the Institut Garches have a common goal: improving the autonomy of handicapped persons. The programs are based on five different approaches: autonomy and reinsertion (SOS Handicap permanent telephone service, Medical TeleAlarme Service), transport and mobility with a centre for the choice and testing of wheelchairs, training in and use of multimedia techniques, encouragement of research through scholarships and, lastly, information and communication.
