Jazz

The BNP Paribas Foundation is one of the few corporate patrons of jazz, supporting musicians for nearly a decade. This includes grants for recordings, as well as support for promoting concerts and tours in order to help these jazz virtuosos reach a broader audience and win new listeners.

The Foundation began its relationship with this most compelling of improvised musical forms with musicians Manuel Rocheman and Jacques Vidal. The success of these partnerships encouraged the Foundation to broaden its support, with a lineup that today includes the Paris Jazz Big Band, pianist Murat Ozturk and his trio, the Moutin Reunion Quartet, the sextet of bassist Christophe Wallemme, saxophonist Sylvain Beuf, Elisabeth Kontomanou, groups led by drummer Simon Goubert and the pianist Sophia Domancich, plus pianist Jean-Pierre Como. The BNP Paribas Foundation has also provided support for the jazz operate “La Tectonique des Nuages” by composer Laurent Cugny (in partnership with the Vienne Jazz Festival).
